Thousands of Liverpool fans lined the streets of Merseyside on Monday to celebrate their Premier League triumph with Arne Slot and the squad during a jubilant open-top bus parade.
The Reds clinched the title with four games to spare last month but had to wait until the final match — a 1-1 draw with FA Cup winners Crystal Palace — to finally lift the trophy at Anfield. Virgil van Dijk received the Premier League trophy from club legend Alan Hansen, sparking wild celebrations inside the stadium and across the city.
Fans had been eagerly awaiting the chance to celebrate a title in public after Covid-19 restrictions denied them the same in 2020. This time, they made the most of it.
The Parade:The 15km parade route began at Allerton Maze and ended at Blundell Street, with fans packing every inch of the streets. Despite the drizzle, a sea of red flares, flags, and the sound of You’ll Never Walk Alone filled the air.
Top scorer and Premier League Player of the Season Mohamed Salah was perched at the front of the bus, waving to cheering fans. He also posed for selfies alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Alisson Becker.
Departing star Trent Alexander-Arnold had an emotional send-off, lifting the trophy during the parade and breaking down in tears as he kissed the badge in front of supporters.
Cody Gakpo proudly clutched the trophy, while fans roared the names of their heroes along the way.
A Calvin Harris Cameo:DJ Calvin Harris also joined the festivities, performing on the bus again after previously being part of Liverpool’s parade during their 2022 cup double. He shared how the opportunity came about through Andy Robertson — and that this year, captain Virgil van Dijk personally insisted on his return: “You’re doing the bus this year.”
The city of Liverpool turned into a carnival of red as Arne Slot’s new era began with silverware and a celebration to remember.
