What is rarely mentioned is how bitter Suarez’s departure from La Liga giants Barca is, with threats of lawsuits and criticism tarnishing Suarez’s illustrious six-year stint at Barcelona.
After his playing time for Barca ran out, Suarez was forced to find a new challenge. The Barca leadership informed Suarez that he was allowed to leave for free in the summer of 2020. Messi then tried to prevent Suarez from leaving, but Barca’s financial situation did not allow Suarez to stay.
