Michu has heaped praise on Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, who has lit up the world since joining his father’s previous club.
Famously, the Spaniard, whose fantastic 2012/2013 season with Swansea City is still remembered today, is one of the Norwegian striker’s inspirations.
Michu has praised Erling Haaland for breaking milestones week after week while wearing the Manchester City jersey.
Michu raves about Erling Haaland
The £51.2 million (Eurosport) player is presently the top scorer in Europe with 51 goals in all competitions to his name.
Haaland has scored 35 goals in his first season in the Premier League, surpassing Mohamed Salah (32), Alan Shearer (34), and Andy Cole (34) with four games remaining.
Michu was astounded by Erling Haaland’s intellect, as he only had positive things to say about him.
I am not sure if I am his idol, but he is mine. He is an animal. If he remains healthy, he will tally 500 goals. He is breaking every benchmark. In an interview with Sport Bible, he declared, “He is my idol.”
Michu continued to lavish praise on Erling Haaland, stating, “He will be the greatest striker in the world for years to come. He plays on a really good team with other really good players, but for me, he is the greatest.”

Haaland discourse is doing somewhat of a U-turn
Erling Haaland’s unprecedented goalscoring record for Manchester City up to this point has left Michu, along with many others around the globe, in awe.
Nonetheless, several fans and pundits initially claimed that Haaland had made City worse and was the primary reason for their lackluster performances for the majority of the season.
There was no shortage of critics, some of whom still exist today, who criticized him because they do not consider him to be aesthetically pleasing or among the finest all-around footballers.
In other words, Erling Haaland has been undervalued by many who have misunderstood his position in the team and chosen to disregard the heights he has reached Etihad Stadium.
Nonetheless, now that City are firing on all cylinders and many realize that a multitude of factors was holding them back, Haaland’s grandeur is being recognized on a larger scale, as should have been the case from the beginning.
