International manager suggest 24 y/o talent should leave Liverpool to upgrade his career

In order for Caoimhin Kelleher to reach his full potential, Stephen Kenny advises him to leave Liverpool.

Caoimhin Kelleher should leave Liverpool, according to Stephen Kenny, the manager of the Republic of Ireland, in order to reach his full potential.

For the number one berth in the Ireland team heading into the June Euro qualifiers, Kelleher, 24, is competing with Gavin Bazunu.

Alisson Becker, the Reds’ starting goalkeeper, is superior to the Irishman, who has advanced through the ranks at Liverpool. Given how the latter has performed in recent years, the former now primarily receives cup games to display his skill.

With that in mind, the Ireland manager responded as follows when asked about Kelleher and his future (h/t Independent):

I completely anticipate that. Normally, it is improper to discuss a player’s potential departure, but at this point, he is lagging behind one of the finest goalkeepers in the world, and things are not going to get any better.

He is unable to afford to not play. He has been aware of this for some time. It’s challenging. He is aware that there is a process involved in joining a club of that kind, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he moved during the summer.

However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reaffirmed that Kelleher won’t be leaving the club until an incredible offer is made. The German added that the club won’t be overly concerned with the goalkeeper position during the transfer window because they have excellent options.

The Irish Independent has reported that the 24-year-old is being courted by Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, and Brighton. Brentford has a new goalie, hence they must be eliminated from the competition. The other two might still try to reach an agreement.

Kelleher is so talented that even if Klopp would prefer for him to remain as a number two, it must be tempting for him to leave and play regular football.

What Liverpool can do is let him go, but with a condition. They could include a buyback clause to his contract with the subsequent team. As a result, the club will have the choice to repurchase Alisson whenever he departs.

In this scenario, the Reds would acquire Kelleher in better physical condition and with more experience than he now has. If the goalkeeper wants to go this summer, the club will need to consider this proposal soon.
