Liverpool reported interested for defensive midfielder, who made more tackles than Moises Caicedo & Declan Rice

Joao Palhinha, a midfielder for Fulham, made the most tackles in the 22–23 Premier League season, and Liverpool is currently interested in signing him.

The 27-year-old transferred from Sporting Lisbon to Fulham in the summer and helped the newly promoted Premier League team—which had been struggling—finish in the top 10.

Making the most tackles (147) throughout the course of the Premier League season, Joao Palhinha topped a record that neither Declan Rice nor Moises Caicedo came close to. Caicedo is ranked second on the list with a score of 100, and Everton’s Idrissa Gueye, Tyler Adams, and Casemiro round out the top three with scores of 97 and 89, respectively.

The Portugal international is regarded as a Jude Bellingham substitute because it is obvious that Liverpool would adore his aggressive mentality.

Now that Alexis Mac Allister of Brighton is reportedly close to a contract, Jurgen Klopp will need more than one midfielder to walk through his doors this summer.

In that he offers more defensive bite and power in the middle of the park, a player like Palhinha differs slightly from Mac Allister.

A wise move by Liverpool would be to purchase Palhinha

It becomes sense that Liverpool supporters expected more established stars to enter their facility this summer, but that isn’t how they operate.

Additionally, history suggests that the finest additions are usually quiet ones, or players who have performed at a lower level.

A player like Palhinha is worth pursuing since players like Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane came from Southampton, while the Reds miss Gini Wijnaldum, who came from Newcastle United when they were demoted to the Championship.
