Liverpool now prepare ‘bargain’ move for £35m star, who is ‘most excited’ at Bundesliga club

According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs and GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool has Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone “on the list” for a possible summer transfer.

During the forthcoming transfer window, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp will want to restructure his options in the middle of the park.

Liverpool are aware of Kone’s price tag, which may be in the range of €35/€40m (£31m/£34m), according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Given that the Reds are negotiating a deal to recruit Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer, the Italian writer suggested that Gladbach might let the midfielder to leave for that money.

In a recent interview with Empire of the Kop, BILD journalist Tobi Altschaffl claimed that the Merseyside club is hoping to add up to three midfielders this summer.

“The circumstances are extremely obvious. Klopp’s Liverpool team. They are seeking for three fresh midfielders in the Bundesliga.

Kone is headed for a move to the Premier League, and Romano recently revealed to GIVEMESPORT that Chelsea was keeping an eye on the midfielder.

Additionally, Jacobs asserted that the 22-year-old might be offered for a “bargain price.”

“I think Liverpool definitely have the player on the list with Kone, and he might be available at a discount price,” Jacobs said to GIVEMESPORT. He won’t cost more than £50m; more likely, he’ll cost around £35m. Therefore, that is undoubtedly a name worth considering.

Would Kone be a better option for Liverpool than their other targets?

Kone might serve as a replacement for the England duo, while Liverpool has already expressed interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

Bellingham and Mount, who are expected to cost Real Madrid £108m and £80m respectively, are already beaten out by the seven-cap France international’s availability for a very low price.

But unlike the Reds’ other targets, the Colombes-born star primarily serves as a midfield enforcer, as seen by the fact that he has only assisted on two goals in 31 games.

What he lacks in attacking ability, he more than makes up for in defensive ability, according to WhoScored, who reports that he averages 2.5 tackles and 1.1 interceptions per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga this season.

Therefore, Liverpool might negotiate a low-cost contract with Monchengladbach for Kone’s services and increase the strength of their midfield.
