According to certain speculative r/u/m/o/r/s in Spain, Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, as well as one of his colleagues, might be of interest to Barcelona in the summer.
Diaz is close to returning from injury for Liverpool, who will profit from his presence. After joining the club from Porto in January 2022, the left winger has made an impression. In 38 appearances in all competitions, he has scored 10 goals for the club.
Despite not being able to play since October owing to a knee injury, he has amassed enough credit to entice Barcelona.
According to Catalunya Radio, Barcelona is considering a deal for Diaz as they try to enhance its wide options.
Similarly, another Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is said to have fans in Barcelona. It won’t take long to figure out why he has become Liverpool’s top scorer in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
It r/e/m/a/i/n/s to be seen if Barcelona will have a genuine chance of signing any of them. In recent years, the La Liga club has battled with their pay cost.
Salah and Diaz both have long-term contracts with Liverpool. As a result, they would be costly investments for Barcelona in terms of transfer fees and salary.
In recent years, Barcelona has often opted to recruit free agents. Liverpool would oppose such moves for Diaz and Salah, who are under contract until 2027 and 2025, respectively.
Barcelona may ᵴтᴜɡɡιе to recruit Liverpool players
Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for Barcelona by Catalunya Radio. They may face comparable challenges on that front.
Ousmane Dembele, Ferran Torres, Raphinha, and Ansu Fati are Barcelona’s current wingers. Several of them have been facing unclear futures, which might pave the way for new arrivals.
Fati, for example, has been linked with a transfer to Manchester United. Raphinha might be moved on only one year after leaving Leeds United in a huge transfer.
Even said, convincing Liverpool to move Diaz or Salah may be tough for Barcelona. Some have questioned if it was the proper idea to reward the latter with a massive deal last year at the r/i/s/k of losing Sadio Mane, but his goal-scoring record shows how valuable he is still.
If Liverpool loses him, they will have to find their successor, even if they have Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo on their roster.
As a result, any offer from Barcelona for Salah (or Diaz) does not seem to be something Liverpool should consider.
Jamie Carragher admits to feeling nervous Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool’s commentator, says the toughest task facing Arsenal and Manchester City
Liverpool, according to Jamie Carragher, has been relegated to the position of “spoilers,” but they may still have a significant influence in the Premier League championship f/i/g/h/t.
By their recent high standards, the Reds have had a disappointing season. They are now sixth in the Premier League ranking, having lost eight games. A top-four finish is doubtful, yet a seven-point deficit to fourth-place Tottenham may be narrowed with wins in their two remaining games.
Yet, everyone at Anfield will be frustrated that they were unable to f/i/g/h/t for the Premier League crown.
Therefore, with the team out of all cup competitions, there will be no silverware this season.
Arsenal leads the table, with Man City eight points behind but a game in hand. It’s a two-team battle for league supremacy, with Liverpool on the sidelines.
Nonetheless, Carragher believes Liverpool will continue to be a significant challenge for any team.
And he feels Jurgen Klopp will be keen to outdo his adversary when Liverpool visits the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
“For all of Liverpool’s ᵴтᴜɡɡιеs this season, apart from when City and Arsenal face each other, they are the league’s biggest obstacle left,” he wrote in The Telegraph.
“A year ago, it was City who put a stop to Liverpool’s quadruple bid.” Jurgen Klopp will be a/n/x/i/o/u/s to derail Guardiola’s triple attempt this time.”
