LeBron James is having a fantastic career for a forward who plays with a lot of passion in a sport that rewards athletes with early retirement. The same just cannot be said for his hairline, though. The 38-year-old’s figure may still be that of a 20-something baller, but his hair has at least 10 years worth of a 60-year-old’s appearance. Additionally, Paul George and Jalen Green, who both have a good quantity of hair on their heads, recently made fun of James for it.
When LeBron moved to Miami in the offseason of 2010, he suddenly started losing a significant amount of hair. Perhaps he was under a lot of strain because he didn’t win a title in his first year and received negative feedback from the public and the media. He has been adamant about retaining his hair for years, but his scalp has never been on his side. And none of his NBA teammates do either.
LeBron James’ hairline is made fun of by Paul George and Jalen Green
Jalen Green discussed his enormous head of hair and the reasons he cut it lately on Paul George’s podcast P. PG, who has a prominent hairline himself, started making fun of his bald co-host Dallas Rutherford.
Green then remarked, “Don’t Bron got the hair install[ment]?” while discussing transplants.
In response, Paul George hysterically imitated how LeBron James would sometimes set his hair on the court, claiming that James does really have hair. Watch the conversation in the accompanying Podcast P YouTube clip.
According to industry professionals, James’ head has received around 2400 hair grafts. Looking at his photos from the 2014 off-season, you might assume that it must be more given how much he lost. When he returned to Cleveland a few months later, they suddenly grew back.
Because of this, his followers and teammates are certain that he underwent a hair transplant.
In high school, James had afro hair
LeBron, at 16 years old, kept his Afro like Kobe Bryant in preparation for playing against his hero the following season. In the tweet by NBA Central below, the evidence is provided.
He had nevertheless decided to chop it short before joining the NBA, giving himself a slightly more mature appearance. He could have maintained a completely bald head, like Kobe and Michael Jordan, it must be said.
He is fairly tenacious in his desire to maintain them, though. James once admitted to being envious of Dwyane Wade’s hairline to Rachel Nichols.
James may be worth a billion dollars and sit atop the NBA’s all-time scoring list in addition to receiving countless other honors, but a man can’t have it all, can he?
