After Mac Allister, Jurgen Klopp keen on adding one more midfield ‘Ԁeꜱtroyeг’ to shortlist

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Liverpool is competing to recruit Borussia Monchengladbach player Manu Kone this summer as Jurgen Klopp tries to bolster his midfield.

According to FootballTransfers, Liverpool and Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kone are ‘in negotiations’ about a summer transfer to Anfield.

According to the source, negotiations have taken place, and he may be offered for close to €40m (£34.45m). Newcastle United, though, is also eager to bolster their roster in the off-season by bringing in the 22-year-old midfielder.

According to Transfermarkt, Kone played 31 times for Borussia Monchengladbach in all competitions in 2022–23, recording one goal and one assist each.

According to Salary Sport, the France Under-21 cap has a contract with BORUSSIA-PARK that runs through June 2025 and pays him almost £37,000 per week.

According to The Guardian, Liverpool are ‘continuing to push’ to finalize a deal to bring Kone and Alexis Mac Allister to Merseyside.

Journalist Jacobs revealed that Liverpool had Kone’s name “on the list” and claimed that they might sign him for a reasonable price in an interview with GIVEMESPORT.

According to Jacobs, Liverpool “certainly have the player on the list” for Kone and may be able to get him for a discount. He won’t cost more than £50m; more likely, he’ll cost around £35m. Therefore, that is undoubtedly a name worth considering.

Would Liverpool be wise to bring in Manu Kone?

Kone, who has been dubbed a “one man army,” is a superb talent with lots of opportunity for growth, so it’s not unexpected that Reds manager Klopp wants to add him to Liverpool’s roster before the upcoming season.

The 22-year-old’s 87.9% pass success rate in 2022–2023 according to WhoScored demonstrates his dependability when in possession of the ball.

The same source also claims that Kone completed 1.9 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga and is a crucial component of Borussia Monchengladbach’s midfield attack.

With 1.96 successful take-ons per 90 minutes over the previous 365 days, Kone ranks in the fourth percentile for this statistical indicator, which places him considerably above his positional contemporaries in Europe’s top five divisions.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and James Milner, Liverpool’s seasoned outgoing midfield trio, need to be replaced with more youthful vitality. Bringing in Kone could help to reenergize the team’s engine ahead of 2023/24.
