Khephren Thuram, a midfielder for OGN Nice, and his agents are fervently pursuing a summer transfer to Liverpool.
The Reds are now apparently focusing on acquiring Thuram after yesterday’s announcement of the signing of Alexis Mac Allister. And according to Football Transfers, they are progressing with the transaction.
They assert that Liverpool and the player have started direct communication and have now reached “an agreement in principle” about a deal. Thuram will be happy to hear this because he and his group are rumored to have been ‘pushing’ for a transfer to Anfield.
Liverpool are prepared to start speaking with Nice after apparently reaching an agreement on terms with the 22-year-old. Thuram’s’maximum worth’ is reportedly £55 million, according to the French team. The Eagles appear to be in a strong position knowing that Newcastle United is also interested.
However, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a “big fan” of the player. Didier Digard, a former manager of Nice, also thought highly of the France international while he was at the organization [RMC Sport]. Klopp is allegedly eager to move forward with a move after deciding against one in January. And Jurgen typically succeeds in obtaining the players he wants.
Thuram urging a transfer to Liverpool
Reds, let’s begin. It appears that Klopp was accurate when he said Liverpool would be active in the market this summer.
Given that Mac Allister has already committed, it appears that the Reds’ other midfield options have been set.
There have been several names suggested in relation to Liverpool in the months building up to the window. The Reds apparently had numerous different lists of targets due to uncertainty about issues like Champions League qualification and whether Jude Bellingham would be brought in.
Liverpool has already had one come through the door as the market starts the following week. There are early indications that Klopp has already picked who they want and is working nonstop to obtain them.
And every indication would suggest that Thuram is the next target on the Reds’ hit list. He appears to fit several criteria as a young player with great potential and a fair asking price.
He also looks really eager to move, which checks one of the criteria. Liverpool might have lost some of its appeal to certain players this summer if they hadn’t played in the Champions League. But if they choose not to sign up right away, we really don’t want them.
We only want to sign players who are fully dedicated to and on board with the team, as any club would do. Thuram appears to be just that, which makes everything much simpler. Reds, let’s finish the job!
