Champions League final squad: Man City worth twice as much as Inter

The Champions League final takes place between a Man City squad worth twice as much as Inter Milan, and three times the transfer fee this season.

Man City prepare for the second Champions League final in history with the highest total value squad in the tournament.

According to Transfermarkt’s assessment, Man City’s registered squad is currently worth 1.05 billion euros.

This is also the greatest value in world football at the moment. Behind Man City is Chelsea, the team experienced a disastrous season but the squad has a quality of 1.02 billion euros.

Erling Haaland costs 170 million euros, ranking second in the world. The most expensive player currently is PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, with a value of 180 million euros.

The remaining member of Man City in the top 6 most valuable players in the world is Phil Foden.

The England international is priced at 110 million euros, on par with Jamal Musiala. Standing above him are Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham – a player who has just joined Real Madrid, with the same 120 million euros.

In terms of squad value, Inter is far behind the English football champions.

The most expensive player in the Inter squad is Lautaro Martinez, reaching 80 million euros. The total value of the team in the hands of Simone Inzaghi is 534.45 million euros.

Thus, the value of Inter is only slightly more than half that of Man City, ranked 11th in the clubs participating in the Champions League this season, and 14th in the world.

It can be said that the Champions League final is a contrast in value and ability to spend money.

In 3 of the last 8 seasons, Man City spent more than 200 million euros on transfers. Particularly for the 2017-18 season, Pep Guardiola’s second year at the Etihad, the club spent 317.5 million euros to sign a new contract.

It was the season of deals like Laporte, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy or goalkeeper Ederson.
