Despite Carvalho’s challenges at Liverpool this season, Hoare thinks the £16m midfielder’s issues have more to do with a lack of fit in Klopp’s system than talent.

It’s absurd considering how hard Liverpool tried to sign Carvalho. They defeated so many opponents that they paid more than was necessary to secure him.
By all accounts, he is a good player; he just doesn’t fit the system, and they really loved what they saw.

Carvalho’s transition from Fulham and Championship football to one of the top teams in the Premier League, Liverpool, was always going to be difficult, but his performance and game time have severely decreased during his time there.
The 20-year-old’s statistical figures have all dropped this year overall, which is not surprising given the fact that he hasn’t played many regular minutes.
This season, the midfielder’s whoscored average rating has dropped from 7.11 at Fulham to 6.37 for the Reds, and he has gone from completing 1.7 key passes per game at Craven Cottage to a pitiful 0.1 for Klopp’s team from last year, when he completed 1.2 dribbles per game for the Cottagers.
A loan period may be the turning point in Carvalho’s Liverpool career; yet, if he doesn’t suit the system now, there’s no guarantee he will when he returns. Carvalho is a 20-year-old Nike sponsored player.
