Manchester United is prepared to start new negotiations in order to hire Kim Min-jae, a defender for Napoli.
Kim Min-jae has reportedly been a target for Manchester United for some time, according to Rudy Galetti through GIVEMESPORT. In order to advance in their pursuit of his autographs, they are prepared to undertake further discussions.
Since Kim transferred from Fenerbahce to Napoli, Serie A has been on fire. Prior to the 2022–23 season, he came in to fill Kalidou Koulibaly’s enormous shoes when he left for Chelsea.
Although there were many concerns regarding his ability to succeed Koulibaly, the 26-year-old has managed to surpass them. He has been his team’s rock for the past three decades, leading Napoli to their first Serie A championship.
The South Korean international has played flawlessly the entire season. His ability to play it out from the back and his excellent positioning, meanwhile, have drawn a lot of interest.
The 26-year-old is also being watched by a number of elite clubs in Europe. Even though he only recently joined the Naples-based team and is under contract there through the summer of 2025, he could depart ahead of the upcoming season. A release clause worth about £51m will probably be triggered to expedite his exit.
Galetti on Kim joining United: “Manchester United will aim to finalize and reach a comprehensive agreement on personal conditions in a new round of meetings set already in the coming days. Then, in early July, the English club already had plans to pay Napoli the €60m release clause that was good for 15 days in order to sign the Korean player to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Tottenham following suit.
Manchester United is one of the teams that is interested in bringing the South Korean international into their ranks. Erik ten Hag has done a fantastic job during his first season in command, but he is eager to advance by bolstering his team. Kim is greatly admired by the Dutch boss, who wants to use him.
His release clause will be honored by the Red Devils in full. However, they want to settle personal matters with the athlete first. They hope to seal the deal by paying his release clause of about £51m in early July once that has been accomplished.
Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are already members of the United team, although neither has ever been consistently reliable. Ten Hag is therefore eager to add the Napoli defender to his squad. Kim will work flawlessly in the former Ajax manager’s system because he favors playing out from the back.
