Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone is a player that Liverpool is interested in acquiring, and the German team is expecting that Liverpool will make an offer to get the midfielder.
Famous journalist Christian Falk predicts that the French sensation will move during the summer transfer window.
We reported last week that Jurgen Klopp is certain to sign the 22-year-old in a £30m move (via The Express).
Falk, however, thinks the Bundesliga team is seeking more than £34.2m in compensation. (Caught Offside) According to Sport Bild’s Head of Football:
Gladbach wants more than €40m (£34.2m) for midfielder Manu Kone and is still waiting for a bid from Liverpool.
Wolves and Aston Villa presently have a remote possibility of completing a deal, although Paris Saint-Germain is still a potential buyer.
As a central/defensive midfielder for Monchengladbach last season, Kone made 30 league appearances.
He helped his club secure all three points in November of last year by contributing an assist in the victory against Stuttgart and scoring a goal against Dortmund.
The U-21 French youngster is more of an enthusiastic ball winner in the middle of the pitch than a creative midfielder.
Manu Kone would be a perfect addition to Klopp’s playing style at Anfield because it relies largely on the midfielders’ pushing and counterpressing.
