Rafael Leao, dubbed “the Portuguese Mbappe” by now-PSG sporting director Luis Campos, has done well for himself despite not quite living up to his early label. Since joining AC Milan, the attacker has become one of Europe’s hottest commodities.
Despite interest from some of the continent’s best clubs, Leao wishes to remain loyal to the Italian club and sign a new contract. In reality, he is not only aiming to help Milan return to the top of Serie A through his own abilities, but he is also attempting to acquire Kylian Mbappe to assist him.
Leao recently told fans about Mbappe, saying, “He’s the best player I’ve met.” He’s already a Rossoneri supporter; he should come to Milan!” This is a reference to last year’s claims by Mbappe, in which he acknowledged to favoring Milan as a child.
What did Mbappe have to say?
Mbappe told Gazzetta dello Sport, “When I was a kid, I had an Italian nanny and I spent a lot of time with her family.” They are all fans of AC Milan. So, owing to them, I was able to support the Rossoneri and witness many Milan games.”
Furthermore, during the FIFA The Best awards ceremony in February, Mbappe responded to a query about moving to Serie A by claiming that he would only join AC Milan. Indeed, the 24-year-old claims to have a’special relationship’ with the Italian club.
A move is unlikely to happen anytime soon, especially because Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid – another team he admired growing up – every season.
