Before Bukayo Saka, an Arsenal forward, scored his second of three goals for England on Monday night, Trent Alexander-Arnold reportedly promised him he would provide a magnificent assist.
Saka scored three goals for the first time in his career as the Three Lions defeated North Macedonia 7-0 at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old played alongside Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane in a deadly front line, with the former scoring two goals and the latter one.
Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, continued to play in the midfield position in which he excelled against Malta on Friday.
In that victory, the Liverpool star teed up Saka with a wonderful pass before a Malta player put the ball in his own net.
The collaboration performed even better on Monday. Alexander-Arnold sliced open the North Macedonian defense with a pass, which Saka pounced on and fired in with a scorching shot.
Saka told Channel 4 of his relationship with Alexander-Arnold: “He’s a top player. He informed me of his intention to make the pass at halftime.
“When I won, I looked for him so I could thank him. I did not need to pause in my stride.
“The season has been extremely long. The season has come to a close. I couldn’t have brought it to a close any better. It’s time to unwind and take a rest.
